One morning a boy was tending
his cows in the field beside a railway line. He noticed that a small railway
bridge damage. Right at that moment the cow-boy noticed a passenger train
coming towards the bridge at a full speed. He realized the great danger that
awaited the passengers. Then the cow-boy put off his red shirts and started
waving it. The train whistled furiously as it neared the bridge. But the boy
went on waving the shirt occupying the railway line. At last the driver had to stop
the train. He got down from the train along with the guard and went to the
spot. Then the cow-boy showed them the damage condition of the bridge. Now they
realized what a great danger all of them had escaped. They thanked the cow-boy
and informed the higher authorities of the boy’s act of bravery and presence of
mind. The cow-boy was later richly rewarded by the railways.
