Sir,

    Allow me please to focus through the columns of your esteemed daily on the problem of drug addiction.

       Drug addiction has become a worldwide curse in modern times. These are nothing but death-traps and have now become a major problem of our society. Many young men and women are failing victims of this dreadful curse. Hashish, Heroin, Brown Sugar, L.S.D and other narcotics are smuggled into the country by the dishonest traders. Thousands of men and billions of dollars are involved in drug traffic millions. Dishonest traders operate underground and the young ones take these drugs for temporary pleasure. It causes loss of appetite, brings drowsiness all the time saps one's strength and stamina. Initially the drugs stimulate the addicts but slowly they lead the addicts to death. As a result, the rosy possibilities of our young men and women are nipped in the bud.

    I hope that the right thinking people will come forward to generate public opinion against this great curse of our social life. We should take the pledge "Let us unite for a drug free world."

    It is high time to create strong public opinion through your editorial column in this regard.
